California State Senate Bill 569 became law on January 1, 2006. It allows public universities like Cal State L.A. to provide individual alumni cost-effective group rates and discounts for home, health and auto insurance, mortgage programs, and credit cards through affinity partnerships with businesses, as well as scholarship support for students. Such programs saved California public university students and alumni over $3 million last year alone. Alumni programs and services are jeopardized as the state's general fund is increasingly challenged to meet the needs of higher education, so such affinity programs are an important source of university funding. Please note that the CSULA Alumni Association never sells or otherwise discloses personal information such as your social security number, academic records, etc. to any outside organizations, companies or individuals.
The new law requires that public universities provide alumni the option to not receive information on such cost-saving offers from affinity partners. If you would prefer NOT to receive information on such discounts, please fill out the form below and submit your information. (Please note that while we will process your request as soon as possible, our affinity partners may not update their databases as frequently.) |
